Five minutes from the house takes you to the woodland walks where  views can be seen of Loch Gilp in one direction and the tops of the islands in the other from marked vantage points.
The more adventurous might want to try the Fire Tower Trail a recognised Scottish mountain biking route to be found just beyond the golf course situated in a forestry commission forest. The trail is suitable for beginners and families (blue),proficient mountain bikers (red) and experts looking for hard routes (Black).
The town centre of Lochgilphead has many speciality shops, cafes,restaurants,pubs and has a swimming pool with gym. Lochgilphead is well placed to use as a base to explore the West highlands where you can easily travel to Inveraray, Oban, Campbelltown the Islands and all those little Villages and tourist traps in between. 
Hill Walking, Climbing, Mountain biking, Ponytrekking, Golfing, Sailing, fishing, surfing, Karting, Whisky tasting and bird watching are only some of the activities that are on your doorstep and the surrounding areas.
